ABOUT Me.

“it’s not about the film,
it’s about the car ride home”

- Jason Schwartzman

To me this is what film making is all about – connecting to the audience and providing a shared experience. It’s more about the conversations in the car on the way home from the movie theatre – the emotions that people are left with.

As an award-winning film and television editor with 20 years experience working on indie dramas and documentaries I love to walk the fine line between making an audience laugh and cry.

I like to tell subjective stories because I can help the audience emotionally get into the headspace of the characters. I’ve worked on a lot of projects about mental illness and it’s a subject really close to my heart. It’s also really helped hone my subjective story telling skills.

My specialty is crafting a story through performance. I love digging into the fine details of every take and piece of coverage to uplift the emotional performances and make sure they are truthful and authentic.

I believe it’s important to experiment and try everything in the edit suite. To throw ourselves entirely into the story’s construction. No idea is too wild.

When I commit to a project I do so fully. I’m as obsessed with your story as you are. I would love the opportunity to spend the days working closely together. Alternatively if you would prefer to give me notes I am very self reliant and I can be left to work on your vision of your story.

My recent projects include the documentary Three Songs for Benazir which was nominated for an Academy Award. The feature film I Met a Girl premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. The limited series Safe Home explores family violence and is now streaming on Hulu in the US and SBS in Australia.

I look forward to hearing about the story you want to tell and I hope that we can work together to craft something truly amazing and memorable.
